The Maleco Automatic Pool & Spa Cover has been designed to provide safe, reliable and convenient operation. However, like any powered moving equipment, it must be used responsibly.
Please read and understand the following safety instructions before operating your cover.
Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury, damage to the cover or spa, and may void your warranty.
General Safety Rules
Always follow these basic safety precautions:

Operate the cover only when the spa is completely unoccupied.

Keep children, pets and bystanders away from the operating area.

Always maintain visual contact with the cover while it is moving.

Stop operating the cover immediately if an obstruction is detected.

Use the cover only for its intended purpose.
Never Do the Following
For your safety, never:

Operate the cover while anyone is in the spa.

Stand, sit, walk or jump on the cover.
-
Place heavy objects on the cover.
-
Allow children to play on or around the cover.
-
Touch or attempt to stop the cover while it is moving.

Insert hands, feet or objects into any moving components.
-
Modify, dismantle or repair the cover without authorisation.

Operate the cover if any part appears damaged or faulty.
Before Operating
Before every operation, check that:

The spa is unoccupied.
-
The area is clear of people, pets and obstacles.
-
No objects are resting on the cover.
-
The cover can move freely without obstruction.
-
Weather conditions are suitable for safe operation.
Never operate the cover during strong winds exceeding 30 km/h.
During Operation
While the cover is moving:

Remain within sight of the cover at all times.

Keep all people clear of the moving cover.
-
Keep hands, clothing and loose objects away from moving parts.

Do not leave the controller unattended.
-
Release the control immediately if the cover does not move normally.
Child Safety
Children must never operate the cover.
Adult supervision is required whenever children are near the spa or cover.
The automatic cover is not designed to prevent children from accessing the spa.
Important Warning
⚠ The Maleco Automatic Pool & Spa Cover is NOT a safety cover.
It must never be relied upon to prevent drowning or restrict access to the spa.
Always follow local pool and spa safety regulations, including any fencing and supervision requirements applicable in your area.
If an Emergency Occurs
Immediately stop operating the cover if:

A person or pet enters the operating area.

An object becomes trapped.
-
The cover does not move smoothly.
-
Unusual noises, vibration or resistance are observed.
-
Any component appears damaged.
Do not continue operating the cover until the cause has been identified and resolved.
Safety Checklist
Before every use, confirm the following:

☐ Area is clear of people, pets and objects.
☐ Cover is free from debris.
☐ Weather conditions are suitable.
☐ Cover moves freely.
☐ Operator maintains visual supervision throughout the entire opening or closing cycle.
