Why Ventilation Is Important
Regular ventilation helps protect your spa and the Maleco Automatic Pool & Spa Cover.
When the cover remains closed for several days, warm moisture and steam can build up underneath. This may cause condensation, unpleasant odours, mould, mildew, and unnecessary wear on the cover materials and components.
To keep your spa and cover in good condition, fresh air should be allowed to circulate regularly.
Recommended Ventilation
For best results, open the cover at least every 3–4 days, even when the spa is not being used.
Leave the cover open for approximately 5-10 minutes to allow moisture and steam to escape.
This simple routine helps reduce condensation and keeps the area beneath the cover dry and fresh.
Water Chemistry
Maintaining correct spa water chemistry is essential.
High chemical levels, including excessive chlorine, bromine or other spa chemicals, may damage the surface of the cover over time.
Damage caused by incorrect water chemistry, excessive chemical levels or chemical vapour build-up is not covered under warranty.
Best Practice
-
Open the cover every 3–4 days.
-
Allow fresh air to circulate under the cover.
-
Let steam and moisture escape before closing again.
-
Keep the cover clean and free from debris.
-
Maintain correct spa water chemistry.
-
Avoid excessive chlorine, bromine or chemical levels.
Important Note
Ventilation is especially important during periods of high humidity, frequent spa use, high water temperature, or when the spa remains closed for several days.
Regular ventilation helps extend the life of your Maleco cover and keeps your spa environment cleaner and healthier.
