Warranty Coverage
Your Maleco Automatic Pool & Spa Cover is covered by a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, subject to the terms and conditions outlined below.
This warranty applies to the complete product, including the cover system, motor, control system and main operating components, provided the product has been installed, operated, cleaned, ventilated and maintained correctly in accordance with Maleco instructions.
Warranty coverage applies only to faults caused by manufacturing defects. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, incorrect operation, lack of maintenance, incorrect water chemistry, chemical damage, external damage or unauthorised repair.
Warranty Period
The complete Maleco Automatic Pool & Spa Cover is covered by a 3-year warranty from the date of installation.
Maleco may request photos, videos, service history or inspection by an authorised technician before approving any warranty claim.
What Is Covered
The warranty may cover manufacturing defects relating to:

Cover system components

Motor and drive system
-
Control system
-
Remote control system
-
Main operating components
-
Faulty materials
-
Faulty workmanship

Approved replacement parts where required
All warranty claims must be assessed and approved by Maleco or an authorised Maleco service technician.
What Is Not Covered
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:

Incorrect operation

Misuse, abuse or neglect
-
Standing, sitting, walking or placing heavy objects on the cover

Operating the cover while the spa is occupied

Operating the cover in strong winds above 30 km/h

Forcing the cover when resistance is detected

Continuing to operate the cover after a fault is noticed

Lack of regular cleaning or maintenance

Failure to ventilate the spa every 3–4 days

Incorrect spa water chemistry

Excessive chlorine, bromine or other chemical levels

Chemical vapour damage
-
Mould, mildew or odour caused by poor ventilation

Use of harsh cleaning products, bleach, solvents or abrasive cleaners

Unauthorised repairs, modifications or installation changes
-
Electrical modification or incorrect power supply

Storms, flooding, fire, impact or other external events

Normal wear and tear

Water Chemistry and Chemical Damage
Correct spa water chemistry is essential to protect the cover surface and components.
High chemical levels, including excessive chlorine, bromine or other spa chemicals, may damage the cover surface over time.
Damage caused by incorrect water chemistry, excessive chemical levels or chemical vapour build-up is not covered under warranty.
The owner is responsible for maintaining correct spa water balance at all times.
Owner Responsibilities

To maintain warranty protection, the owner must:

Use the cover only for its intended purpose

Follow all safety and operating instructions

Keep the cover clean and free from debris

Maintain correct spa water chemistry

Ventilate the spa every 3–4 days
-
Stop operation immediately if abnormal movement, noise or resistance is noticed

Do not force the cover under any circumstances

Arrange periodic professional inspection where required

Keep the original proof of purchase

Maleco may require inspection by an authorised technician before approving a warranty claim.
Unauthorised Repairs
Do not attempt to dismantle, repair, modify or replace any part of the cover system without written approval from Maleco.
Unauthorised repairs, modifications or electrical work may create unsafe operation and may void the warranty.
Any electrical, motor, transformer, control system or mechanical repair must be carried out by a qualified professional or authorised Maleco technician.
Important Note
This warranty does not replace the owner’s responsibility to operate and maintain the cover correctly.
Damage caused by misuse, neglect, lack of maintenance, incorrect water chemistry, forced operation, unauthorised repair or failure to follow Maleco instructions is not covered under warranty.
