Preparing for Strong Wind or Cyclone Conditions
The Maleco Automatic Pool & Spa Cover is designed for normal outdoor use. However, during strong winds, severe storms, or cyclone conditions, additional protection is required.
If strong wind, severe weather or a cyclone warning is expected, the cover must be secured using the supplied mounting straps.
The mounting straps must be installed correctly in accordance with the Maleco demonstration video and user instructions.
When to Use the Mounting Straps
Use the mounting straps whenever:
-
Strong winds are expected
-
A severe storm warning has been issued
-
A cyclone warning has been issued
-
The spa will be left unattended during bad weather
-
Local weather conditions may exceed normal safe operating limits
-
Do not wait until the storm has arrived. The cover should be secured before wind conditions become unsafe.
How to Secure the Cover
Before severe weather arrives:
-
Fully close the cover.
-
Ensure the cover is sitting correctly and evenly.
-
Install the mounting straps as shown in the Maleco demonstration video.
-
Check that each strap is properly tightened and secured.
-
Confirm that all fixing points are correctly connected.
-
Do not operate the cover while the mounting straps are attached.
-
Only remove the mounting straps after the severe weather has passed and it is safe to do so.
Important Safety Note
Never attempt to install, adjust or remove mounting straps during dangerous wind conditions.
Always secure the cover early, before the weather becomes severe.
If it is not safe to access the spa area, do not attempt to secure the cover.
Owner Responsibility
The owner is responsible for monitoring weather conditions and securing the cover before strong wind, storm or cyclone conditions occur.
Failure to use the mounting straps as instructed may result in damage to the cover, motor system, mounting points or surrounding property.
Warranty Exclusion
Damage caused by strong wind, severe storms, cyclone conditions or failure to correctly use the mounting straps is not covered under warranty.
If the mounting straps are not installed in accordance with the Maleco demonstration video and user instructions, any resulting damage is the responsibility of the owner.
