Thank you for choosing the Maleco Automatic Pool & Spa Cover.
This guide will help you operate your cover safely and correctly from the very first use. Before operating the cover, please take a few minutes to read these instructions.
For your safety, always ensure that the cover is used responsibly and only for its intended purpose.
Before You Begin
Before opening or closing the cover, always complete the following safety checks:
✔ Ensure the spa is completely unoccupied.
✔ Make sure children, pets and bystanders are well clear of the operating area.
✔ Remove any towels, toys, cushions or loose objects from the cover.
✔ Check that nothing is underneath the cover or obstructing its movement.
✔ Ensure the guide rails (if fitted) are free from leaves, dirt and debris.
✔ Confirm that weather conditions are suitable. Do not operate the cover during strong winds (over 30 km/h) or severe storms.
Opening the Cover

Carry out all safety checks listed above.

Press and hold the OPEN button on your controller.

Continue holding the button until the cover has fully opened.

Never leave the cover unattended while it is moving.

If the cover stops unexpectedly or an obstruction is noticed, immediately release the button and remove the obstruction before operating again.

Once fully open, visually inspect that the cover is completely clear of the spa and ready for use.
Closing the Cover

Ensure everyone has exited the spa.

Remove floating accessories, cleaning equipment and any objects that may interfere with the cover.

Press and hold the CLOSE button.

Continue holding the button until the cover is fully closed.

Check that the cover has closed evenly and is sitting correctly on the spa.

Never force the cover if resistance is encountered.
During Operation
For safe operation:

Always maintain visual contact with the cover while it is moving.

Never allow children to operate the cover.
-
Never touch moving parts.
-
Never attempt to stop or guide the cover by hand.

Keep the operating area clear at all times.
After Use
After using your spa:
-
Close the cover completely to help retain heat and reduce evaporation.

Check that the cover is properly seated around the spa.

If heavy rain or debris has collected on the cover, remove it before the next operation.

Open the cover every 3–4 days for approximately 5-10 minutes to allow ventilation and reduce moisture build-up.
Important Safety Reminder
⚠ The Maleco Automatic Pool & Spa Cover is not a safety cover.
It must never be relied upon to prevent drowning or restrict access to the spa.
Children should always be supervised by a responsible adult whenever the spa area is accessible.
